Chrysocolla is a very attractive greenish-blue mineral, an ore of copper, and often found near large copper deposits, such as in Arizona, Africa and Mexico. Due to its attractive blue colour, it can be mistaken for turquoise, which is, in fact, often found intermingled with it, as well as other materials such as azurite, jasper and malachite. This creates an amazingly mottled and fascinating material, known commonly as 'Eilat stone'. I love this material, and the fascinating colours and infinite patterns found in each stone look like mini-landcaspes with patches of green and brown, and seams of blue like rivers. If you want to know the lore behind it, it's prized for centuries for its apparent qualities of reconciliation and reassurance. I've got this in bead form and now, in cabochon form.
